Spoke with Neil Graham from Megelli UK at the Milan show, as the company introduced its Supermoto and Naked 125 models for 2008, plus this design study for a sporty 125.
The design is British, with manufacture in Taiwan/China to keep costs down. The engine is afour stroke single from SYM in Taiwan.
My impression? Great looking tubular chassis, beautiful details on the bike, with elements of the Cagiva Raptor, Ducati 1098 and Cagiva Mito all in the CADCAM mix. I really liked the trellis-like swingarm and cantilevered shock at the back end too.
The Megelli will retail in the UK for just over two grand, assuming it goes into production in 2009, and offering a combination of value and sharp styling, it should do well.
